Why should I seal my pavers?

Paver sealing protects, preserves and enhances pavers. Porous concrete pavers absorb moisture easily. This allows mold and algae growth to take place on the pavers discoloring them. After our sealing application, the pavers are water repellent not allowing moisture to build up in them. This keeps them clean & safeguarded from organic growth. The sun and vehicle traffic can contribute to fading pavers and stripping them of their color over time. Sealing protects the pavers from both ensuring a longer life of the paver.

Paver sealing protects, preserves and enhances pavers. With concrete pavers being very porous, they absorb a ton of moisture easily. This creates an environment for mold and algae to thrive and spread. It only takes one rainy season to notice how fast your beautiful pavers can turn black and grimy.

These before and after photos can give you a good idea of how bad your pavers can get. Also, they can show you how easily we can bring them back to life with our paver cleaning & sealing services! After our three step cleaning process. We re sand the paver joints with 100% silica sand below the paver bevel (1/8th-1/4 inch below the bevel). This helps keep the pavers stabilized. Once sealed the sand hardens and locks into place inside the paver joints.

Sealing the pavers now takes place. After application, the pavers are water resistant which slows down the mold and algae growth that discolors your pavers. Moisture will not be able to build up in the pavers which allows them to stay clean and easy to maintain in the future. We apply two coats to the pavers. Your pavers will not only be protected and preserved from weathering but also fading. The sealer helps preserve the original color from the sun and vehicle traffic. Both contribute to pavers fading over time.

Lastly, you’ll have a nice new enhanced look for your pavers. The sealer we use and prefer gives a wet finish that brings out the color of the pavers. We can also add a tint to alter the color if you’d like. Give us a call today for your free quotes on paver cleaning and sealing or for any other questions you might have!
